Michael has been licensed to practice law in State of Illinois since 1982. He received his legal training at DePaul University. Michael initially started in criminal law, domestic relations, and bankruptcy for the first 5 years of his practice. After that period, he made the decision to focus specifically on domestic relations. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association. He was a long time member of the Child Representative Panel. He has continued his legal education with a special interest in psychological testing in child custody cases. Throughout his career he has represented his clients in thousands of contested hearings and trials. In his free time, he considers himself a wood and metal worker.
Ceil has been licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois since 1975. Ceil started her education with a B.S. from the University of Illinois. She received her legal training at DePaul University. After a year of practice she returned to the University to work in the low to moderate-income legal clinic as faculty. In 1989, she left DePaul full time (remaining part time to teach matrimonial law) and joined her husband Michael Tristano in private practice. Over the past 20 years she has concentrated her practice on Divorce, Custody, Support, Visitation and related matters. She has continued legal education with a special interest in understanding the effects of divorce on Children. In her spare time she enjoys being a doggie grandmother to her children’s eight dogs.
Marly Tristano graduated with her B.A. from Northwestern University, Evanston, IL in 2011 with a major in political science. She went on to graduate Beta Gamma Sigma with her Master’s in Business Administration from the College of Charleston, Charleston, SC in 2012. Marly went on to attend Law School at the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, VA, which is the oldest law school in the United States. During her first year of law school, Marly externed with the Circuit Court of Cook County, for the Hon. James Flannery. While a third year student, Marly interned for the Legal Aid Society of Eastern Virginia. During her stay in Virginia, Marly was on the executive board for the Family Readiness Group for the USS George H W Bush (CVN 77) and spent her free time volunteering with other military families. Marly was awarded the Certificate of Achievement by The Family Law Section of the Virginia State Bar. Marly has been admitted to practice law in the state of Illinois since 2016 and before the United States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. Marly is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, Southwest Bar Association, and the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts. Marly also serves as a guardian ad litem and child representative on the Cook County Panel and as completed mediation training through Northwestern University's mediation program. When Marly is not running her family law practice, she is spending time training her 3 co-counsels, Teddy, Jamie, and Lulu to not bark during ZOOM.
